NMMU BUSINESS SCHOOL STRATEGIC CONVERSATIONS - HOPE FOR AFRICA
NMMU Business School presented Strategic Conversations this week and a
presentation and keynote lecture was presented by Professor Kobus Jonker,
Graduate School Director and professor of strategy.
The event drew high-profile attendance from senior organizational leaders in
private and public sectors in Nelson Mandela Bay, including Nelson Mandela Bay
Metro Municipality’s Budget and Treasure and Human Settlements departments,
development agency UDDI, the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber, Liberty Life,
ABSA, VW, Aspen, GMSA and also NMMU Business School MBA alumni.
In the installment of Strategic Conversations: Hope for Africa, Prof Jonker asked whether African countries were unsuccessful because they fail to integrate economic and business objectives with Africa’s social challenges. He unveiled and discussed the prospects of Africa as continent and revealed an overlooked African economy that achieved astonishing success by integrating social and economic objectives in a national development model.
